For many students, UIUC has a very good reputation in Illinois and may indeed be their dream school, much as it may be for kids in Computer Science, Physics, Accounting, Civil Engineering and some other top-10 majors. Does the school’s reputation prove to be helpful? Or is it more forgotten/regarded as lesser, especially up north?
Also, I’m trying to get a handle on the school’s culture. I’m planning to vist the campus, but I’d like to know how rigiorous + competitive it is (or at least percieved as). Why does Fresno have a bad Reputation? (Sacramento, Clovis: rent, home ...
reputation.com cost, In terms of academic reputation, UW-Madison is very strong. UW-Madison is probably behind only Cal-Berkeley, UVA, and Michigan among US public schools. Maybe UNC and UCLA, though their reputations are probably staked as much on selectivity as they are on actual academic and research quality/output. <p>If you want to look at reputation why not look at reputation based or prestige based rankings?</p> <p>What is reputation to you? Should Emory be my top school when it has such a bad reputation ... Out of the blue last week my son told us that he was accepted off the waitlist and that TCU was now his first choice. We are from the northeast and are not familiar with TCU. I’m hoping some of you who have researched or have experience with TCU can give us an idea about the school’s reputation.
